Nathan Lukes 8th Inning Homer Lifts Biscuits Over Lookouts
(lookouts.com) CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) — Nathan Lukes hit a solo home run in the eighth inning to give the Montgomery Biscuits a 3-2 win over the Chattanooga Lookouts on Thursday. The win evened the divisional playoff series at one game apiece.
Ian Gibaut got Nick Gordon to fly out with runners on first and second to end the game for his 11th save of the season.
After Montgomery crossed the plate for two runs in the first inning, Chattanooga tied the game 2-2 after Max Murphy hit an RBI double in the second inning and T.J. White hit a solo home run in the seventh.
Nick Ciuffo singled three times in the win.
Edwin Fierro (7-4) got the win with a scoreless inning in relief while Cody Stashak (0-1) took the loss in the Southern League game.
Despite the loss, Chattanooga is 21-6 against Montgomery this season.
Game 3 of the series is Friday in Montgomery.
The series will then return to Chattanooga on Saturday and if necessary on Sunday.
