National Cornbread Festival announces return this April

SOUTH PITTSBURG, Tennessee (WDEF) – The National Cornbread Festival announces it will return this year on the weekend of April 23rd and 24th.

This will be the 25th edition in South Pittsburg.

They had to cancel the last two festivals because of Covid.

They are expecting 25,000 people to attend this year.

The festival includes the National Cornbread Cook-off among 10 finalists from across the country.

They have to concoct a main dish with a packet of Martha White Cornmeal, using a piece of Lodge seasoned cast iron cookware (both sponsors of the event.)

Festival goers can sample a wide range of cornmeal delicacies in Cornbread Alley.

The festival also features music, crafts, antiques and contests.
