New Bama Offensive Coordinator Steve Sarkisian Getting Paid $1.6 Million

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) – Alabama has approved new contracts for several members of the football staff, including offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian and defensive coordinator Pete Golding.

Sarkisian, who was hired last month, has a three-year contract worth an average of $1.6 million annually. Golding, who was promoted from within the staff, also has a three-year deal. He will be paid $1.1 million this year and $1.2 million in each of the next two years.

The university’s trustees approved the contracts on Wednesday.

Alabama coach Nick Saban had to remake his coaching staff after defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi left to become the Cleveland Browns’ defensive line coach and offensive coordinator Mike Locksley was hired to lead Maryland’s program.

Alabama also approved contracts for six other recently-hired assistants, including Brian Baker, Charles Huff, Charles Kelly, Kyle Flood, Sal Sunseri and Holmon Wiggins. All have two-year deals.
