New Hazelnut Spread M&Ms bring new jobs to Cleveland

CLEVELAND, Tennessee (WDEF) – A new flavor of M&M’s means more jobs and a larger plant in Cleveland.

Mars Wrigley Confectionery has announced a new product line.

The Hazelnut Spread M&M is candy covering and chocolate on the outside, filled with the hazlenut spread at the center.  It will be similar to their new Caramel M&M.

And they will make them exclusively at their plant in Cleveland.

The new line means a $142 million investment in the plant and should bring 79 new jobs.

The company hopes the Hazelnut Spread M&Ms will start rolling off the assembly line early next year.

This is the 40th anniversary of the plant in Cleveland.

It is the largest M&Ms plant in the world.
