No charges from shooting in Ft. Payne Walmart parking lot

FORT PAYNE, Ala (WDEF) – Fort Payne police are not charging either party in a shooting Wednesday night at a Walmart parking lot.

33 year old Charles Taft Pope underwent emergency surgery after being shot sometime after 7:30 PM.

Police took another party into custody at the scene, questioned him, and then decided not to file charges against him.

They describe the situation as a domestic dispute.

The case is still under investigation.
