Said Manning:”The good thing is we’ve had a full off-season. I didn’t get the job last year until the dead period. So everything was kind of rushed. We got to do everything, have a full spring, fall June anytime it starts getting hot and pads start popping in a couple weeks it will be fun.”

He will be relying on his senior QB A. J. Robinson

Robinson:”We have a few young receivers but hitting the Field during the off-season and whenever we don’t have practice that’s when we can really build chemistry.”

He was able to play nine games last year before getting injured and was forced to miss the first round game where Ootlewah loss to eventual state champions Powell.

Said Manning:”We took a first round exit in the playoffs we didn’t have the year that we wanted to. It was a good experience for us to get on the bus and take a road trip and get back to the playoffs after a couple years of not being there but it’s good motivation for us.”

Said Robinson:”My injury wasn’t too bad just had some PT so excited for this year.”

Manning knows Robinson is ready to take on the leadership role because he took one on during the last springs baseball season.

Said Manning”He had a really good baseball season where he had to become their starter, become the race, closer, a little bit of everything. He got to grow up a lot during that.”

Said

Robinson:”I got a try to take charge of this team. Try to lead a little bit more trying to take this team to win season.”
