Ooltewah Home Destroyed in Fire

OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (WDEF) — Investigators in Hamilton County are looking into the cause of a fire that destroyed an Ooltewah home late Sunday afternoon.

It happened shortly before 4:30 p.m. at a home on Paw Paw Trail.

Tri-Community volunteer firefighters and others from several nearby departments responded to the blaze, which had flames going through the roof.

Fortunately, everyone got out safely.

Firefighters then went in to put out the flames, but they soon had to evacuate themselves, because part of the building collapsed, and the roof was unstable.

The fire caused about $350,000 in damage, and the home is a total loss.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
