Patients Being Evaluated for Exposure to Ebola in Alabama

Medical workers in Birmingham, Alabama quarantined nine-people for possible exposure to Ebola. This comes after they came in contact with someone suffering from Ebola-like symptoms.

Authorities say that person recently visited an African country with an active Ebola contamination. Two family members of the patient and six firefighters who came in contact with that person during a medical call have been isolated and undergone decontamination. They are all being quarantined at UAB hospital.

Doctors say the patient was already being monitored due to their travel patterns and called in shortly after exhibiting symptoms.

Tests should indicate one way or another whether the patient has Ebola later today.
If results come back negative, the patient will be tested again in three days.
