Pedestrian Struck and Killed on I-24

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on I-24 on Wednesday night, Chattanooga Police Department said. The man was pronounced dead after arriving at a hospital.

The man was struck by a vehicle on I-24 eastbound around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the CPD said.

Police say they found the man suffering from life-threatening injuries when they arrived at the scene.

The man was laying in the emergency lane of the roadway when they arrived.

The suspect that hit the man remained on scene and cooperated with police, they said.

The man was transported to a local hospital where police say he was pronounced dead due to his injuries.

The CPD says this investigation is ongoing.
