Personel Shuffle at Cleveland Habitat For Humanity After Audit

Cleveland (WDEF) – How much did a recent audit play into the turnover at the Cleveland Habitat for Humanity board?

Officials don’t want to talk about the findings of the audit.

But finance director Matt Carlson has left, with supporters saying he was fired.

And this week two finance committee members have quit in protest.

Now Habitat for Humanity of Cleveland has found a new finance director.

He is Rick Smith, who ran the business office for the Bradley County school system.
Board President Jeff Morelock tells our media partner, The Cleveland Daily Banner, that Smith’s background as a CPA was important.

“It was recommended that we hire a CPA, and Rick is a CPA with more than 30 years experience in finance.”

You can read more on the changes in today’s Cleveland Daily Banner.
