Police chase suspects captured after two days in the woods

COHUTTA, Georgia (WDEF) – Police in Cohutta, Georgia have captured suspects who had been hiding in the woods for several days after a chase earlier this week.

The suspects got away after the chase on Tuesday in Murray County.

Police say they had been hiding in the woods, barns and outbuildings around town since then.

Finally, someone who was trespassing on Cohutta-Varnell Road near Long Street spotted them and reported it to police.

When officers corralled Johnathan Atkins and Bailey King, they needed medical treatment.

They were treated for severe dehydration and hunger.

Police say Atkins has several outstanding warrants and King will now face new charges.
