Police: Man arrested for DUI, speeding while trying to get son to Chuck E. Cheese’s

ALPHARETTA, GA (CBS46) – A father was arrested after being accused of speeding to get his child to a Chuck E. Cheese’s while allegedly driving under the influence.

Shane Elzey, 27, was pulled over on April 29 after he was allegedly speeding on Georgia Highway 400, according to a police spokesperson.

Police say Elzey’s excuse for driving so fast was so he could get his 7-year-old son to the restaurant in Alpharetta, which is north of Atlanta.

According to the police spokesperson, Elzey had an odor of alcohol on his breath during the traffic stop and eventually admitted to drinking.
