Police seek attacker that left Carta worker with burns

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Two weeks ago, Chattanooga Police say a woman was attacked outside of the Carta building on Wilcox Blvd around 7 am.

Investigators released a video today hoping that it will help identify the attacker.

It shows the suspect walking down the sidewalk and speaking to the victim. Then you see the victim getting that substance thrown in her face and the suspect running away.

Police say the victim did not know the attacker.

About an hour before the incident, the suspect was seen at a nearby convenience store, buying a coffee. She then used that cup for the substance.

She’s described as a black female, 5’4″, about 150 pounds.

Police say it appears that she was driving a gray 2011 BMW 5 series.

The suspect will face aggravated assault charges. Police are pleading with the community for answers and there is a one thousand dollar reward.
