Pothole plan for Tennessee highways

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (WDEF) – TDOT reports they are addressing a pothole problem on state highways and interstates in Tennessee.

They blame the back-to-back winter storms that have hit the state.

They say they are using all available staff now to repair the damage as quickly as possible.

So we can expect to see crews patching potholes over the coming days and weeks.

TDOT officials say most of the repairs will use cold mix asphalt (a quick fix).

Though there may be some asphalt plants making limited hot mix for repairs now, it will be spring or early summer before more permanent repairs can be made.

“TDOT does not count individual potholes, keep a tally of how many potholes have been repaired or the cost of repairs per pothole. These repairs are part of normal highway maintenance operations.”
