Project Passageways brings an artistic take on downtown alleys

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – Some of Chattanooga’s alleyways just got a little more creative thanks to the River city company.

Wednesday night, the group unveiled Project passageways.

It’s made up of 5 art installations that have been designed for and built in 4 different downtown alleyways.

The project started back in January as a way to help beautify places in the scenic city that might otherwise be overlooked.

Amy Donahue with the River City Company told us “We’re sort of a collection of things from the designs that people propose to building owners and property owners that were willing to participate. It’s really just the ones that we thought people would get to see and experience and interact.”

The installations are expected to last somewhere between six and 12 months.

Here is a map of where you can find the alleyways.

And you can learn more about the designs at each of the locations here.
