Qcells Expands in Northwest Georgia

Renewable energy provider creates more than 2500 new jobs

DALTON, Ga. (WDEF) – Qcells, one of the largest and most recognized renewable energy solution providers, is expanding its operations in Georgia once again.

Cartersville will get its first facility, while Dalton is adding its third.

These expansions will create more than 2,500 new jobs in northwest Georgia, and over 500 new jobs solely in Dalton.

Commissioner Jevin Jensen says the Qcells expansion will have a positive effect on the Whitfield County economy.

Qcells’ expansion plans to have over 1,500 total jobs by later this year. “That’s a great step into diversifying our economy, and really building on that manufacturing base that we’ve always had,” Jensen said.

Qcells originally came to Dalton in 2018 and has already expanded once since then.

Facility operations are expected to begin later in 2023.
