Red Bank receives Army HERO School Award

Red Bank, Tenn. (WDEF) — Red Bank High School today received the first Army H.E.R.O School Award of Excellence in 2017.

H.E.R.O stands for Helping Everyone Reach Opportunities.

The presentation was made this afternoon by Lieutenant Colonel Greg Schrein and Chattanooga Company Commander, Captain Peter Ahching.

Principal Elaine Harper accepted the honor.

The school was selected out of 91 High Schools in North Georgia and Southeast Tennessee.

SFC Noel Koziac said, “The U.S. army wanted to recognize one of our high schools that allow us to pretty much come into the schools and give our message as far as the opportunities, scholarships for schools, job opportunities that are available. With this program it allows us to do that. It allows us honor and give back to the school hat help us.”

Instructors showed off the new Army Physical Assessment Test during today’s pep rally.
