Red Bank Hopes to Field Another Talented Team Under a New Head Coach
Red Bank, TN-(WDEF-TV) Red Bank has fielded one of the top teams in Hamilton County over the last six seasons.
They hope to unleash another talented team this fall as assistant Ted Gatewood takes over as head coach.
Ted Gatewood is back at his alma mater as the new Red Bank head coach, and there’s no place else he’d rather be.
Said Gatewood:”You know Red Bank is a special place. Holds a really special place. A lot of people that went here it holds a special place in their heart, and it does mine also.”
You know what else is special. The Lions defensive front.
Said quarterback Jake Brune:”I’m excited to watch our D-line play. I’m really excited to watch them play because you’ve got Koby and Kadarius on the edge. Then you have Cam in the middle and Micah in the middle as well.”
Said Gatewood:”They only have one speed, and it’s full speed ahead. That’s what you want.”
Joseph Blackmon has graduated at quarterback, making room for Jake Brune.
Said Gatewood:”Thing about Jake is he has studied. He has learned, and he has developed over those years to where he has got a lot of comfort, and he’s got confidence, but at the same time, he’s smart.”
Brune knows he just needs to get the ball to his play-makers, and they’ll take care of business.
Said Brune:”It’s great. I have open receivers all the time. I have open tight ends. Open running backs.”
Gatewood says for the lions to roar, they need to build depth.
Said Gatewood:”We are going to be young, but the thing about it is they don’t play young.”
Reporter:”Just sounds like talking to you there’s some talented young guys.”
Said running back A.D. Crutcher:”Oh yeah. For sure. For sure. We’ve got a little secret weapons. Come out and get to show some. Ain’t got no film on them.”
Reporter:”I love secret weapons man.”
Said Crutcher:”Yes sir.”
