Red Bank man charged with kidnapping, sexual battery and assault
Christopher Lane, 29, of Red Bank was arrested early Monday morning and charged with aggravated sexual battery, kidnapping and aggravated assault.
According to the arrest affidavit, an anonymous person called police to report loud screams and what sounded like a fight in a parking lot in the 1100 block of Dayton Blvd.
When police arrived, they reportedly found Lane yelling at a shirtless woman.
As police go closer, Lane reportedly ran into an apartment located close to the parking lot.
The officer said Lane slammed the door then made a crashing sound in the bathroom.
After a a brief moment, Lane reportedly opened the door and allowed himself to be detained while officers entered the room. During their search, officers found a hand gun in the toilet
According to police, the woman said Lane threaten to kill her.
The person who called 911 later told police she heard the victim tell Lane, "I’m scared of you." Then she reportedly told police she heard what sounded like the woman being dragged down the sidewalk and back into a room.
The victim told police that Lane came to her residence and forced her to go with him to the Great Value Inn where he reportedly forced her to rent a room with her identification.
Once inside the room, the victim said Lane began to sexually assault her. She reportedly ran out the room hoping someone would Hear her scream.
Police arrived just after Lane reportedly told them woman he would kill her.
According too the arrest affidavit, the two knew each other.
The manager at the Great Value Inn doesn’t believe the victim’s story.
He says she’s rented a room there before and has been there before with Lane.
