Richardson Street to close in Athens

Athens, Tenn. — The City of Athens Public Works Department has announced Richardson Street from Haley Street to Oak Street will close due to paving.

This closure will be from Monday, May 18, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. until Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 4:00 p.m.

Motorists are advised to use extreme caution, watch for detour and traffic control signage, pedestrians, and work crews.

Motorists should allocate additional time for traffic delays when traveling in this area.
