Gas Prices on the Rise

Chattanooga average 12 cents per gallon higher than last week

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Gas prices are on the rise across the country. In Chattanooga, gas is 12 cents per gallon higher than it was a week ago, according to a GasBuddy survey of 170 gas stations.

The average price per gallon of gas in Chattanooga is $2.87, which is 13 cents higher than it was a month ago.

Across the country, the average price of gas has risen 8 cents per gallon in the past week. This makes the national average $3.25 per gallon.

Conversely, the national average price of diesel fuel is 2 cents lower than last week, currently sitting at $4.64 per gallon.

Compared to one year ago, average gas prices are 8 cents per gallon lower in Chattanooga and 3 cents per gallon lower nationally.
