Riverbend Festival books more Prince associates & more new country for 2017 festival
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The Riverbend Festival announces more headling acts, including a hot new country act and more Prince-related music.
The country group Old Dominion will play a Sunday night show on June 11th at 9:30.
The group’s debut album has just been certified gold.
It features 3 top ten singles, the number one hit Break Up With Him and the hit Snapback, plus current hit single Song For Another Time.
This summer’s festival will also have more Prince nostalgia.
Former Prince protoge, Sheila E will play the Coca Cola stage at 9:30 on Thursday, June 15th.
She is the daughter of percussonist Pete Escovedo (Santana) and the niece of Alejandro Escovedo (Texas songwriter).
Sheila E. sang on Prince’s Purple Rain album (Let’s Go Crazy) and led his New Power Generation band.
On her own, she had hits with The Glamorous Life, A Love Bizarre, and Hold Me.
Sheila E now.
Sheila E then.
Riverbend officials say last summer’s Bud Light Stage show by The Purple Xperience was one of the biggest ever.
So the Prince tribute band is back to play the early Coke Stage show before Sheila E.
