Riverbend officials have plans in place in event of storms

Chattanooga, Tenn. (WDEF) – It just wouldn’t be Riverbend without at least one big storm.
So Friends of the Festival is all too aware of the storm potential during Riverbend.
And that means they make plans to be prepared for any storms that threaten to rain on Riverbend.
Officials say the rain isn’t a problem but lightning and high winds are.
Amy Morrow with Friends of the Festival said, “The plan is to watch, keep an eye on out for everything, talk to the meteorologists and know what’s coming and then let everyone know, and of course just to evacuate safely, and get to their cars as quickly as you can.”
Morrow said Wednesday night’s temporary evacuation went off wihtout a hitch, and after about an hour or so, they re-opened the Festival for Brett Eldredge to take the stage.
