Roads stay busy on Memorial Day
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Memorial Day didn’t go without crowded interstates across Chattanooga.
Parts of I-24 and I-75 both had their share of heavy traffic.
At some points, motorists said traffic was at a stand still.
Multiple accidents were reported.
Besides heavy traffic, travelers also faced wet roads and a bit of rainfall.
“About the last 20, 25 miles there was heavy traffic and rain as well. There was a minor accident which caused a huge backup at that point,” traveler Jim Bessler said.
“Highway 24 south of Nashville was very busy, but then there was an accident somewhere along 24 that we detoured off, saw some beautiful country along the river and then ended up on some back roads, parked for along time waiting and waiting. Finally, we turned around and came in on Highway 41 to the interstate,”traveler Daniel Kludt said.
