Rock City one interested party in the Mountain Cove Farm property

ROCK SPRING, Georgia (WDEF) – The Walker County Commissioner on Wednesday held a meeting for the public to discuss the future of Mountain Cove Farm.

The property is a scenic old farm site in the cove between Lookout and Pigeon Mountains, featuring a general store, limited rentals and even a small air strip.

The county bought the property to preserve it, but is looking for some financial relief.

They already have one bid from a business owner who wants to lease the property for a wedding venue, Christmas tree farm, RV park and other recreational uses.

But the commissioner is asking for more proposals.

A representative from Rock City attended expressing their possible interest in managing the property.

They operate the Corn Maze and fall events site in Chattanooga Valley below the tourist destination on Lookout Mountain.

And they discussed buying the Mountain Cove farm a few years ago.
