Rock The Riverfront returns next year with Los Trompos
Art installation accompanies Riverfront festival in Spring
CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The River City Company announces that Rock The Riverfront will return next spring.
The month long celebration on the Chattanooga Green debuted last year with the interactive seesaw art installation, Impulse.
More than 30,000 Chattanoogans came down to ride the giant seesaws and enjoy other activities.
Next year’s Rock The Riverfront will be held from March 17 to April 16.
And this time, the interactive art will be ‘Los Trompos” or “Spinning Tops” in Spanish.
The installation is inspired by the toys kids have played with all over the world.
It features eight giant, 3D spinning tops that you can climb into and take a ride.
The full schedule of events will come out early next year, but organizers say lantern parade will return.
“Rock the Riverfront is in direct response to the desires outlined by our community during the ONE Riverfront planning process. The return of the event this coming Spring will allow us to continue to test concepts outlined during the planning process and assist with creating permanent changes to the area,” stated Emily Mack, President & CEO of River City Company.
