Rossville mom charged with TennCare fraud

CHATTANOOGA (WDEF) – The state of Tennessee is prosecuting a Rossville woman for signing up for TennCare health benefits.

The Office of Inspector General says 23 year old Tracy Farthing claimed to live in Tennessee to claim health insurance benefits.

The charges are TennCare fraud and theft of services.

Investigators say she collected more than $8,470 in fees and claims for herself and her son while living in Georgia.

“We appreciate the efforts of sheriff’s officers in Tennessee and Georgia in this arrest,” Inspector General Kim Harmon said. “Their collaborative efforts with our office help us make sure state and federal dollars in TennCare are reserved for Tennesseans.”
