Salvation Army picks up load of boys bicycles from Love Gives Wheels bike drive

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) –  It’s going to be a very merry Christmas for more than 500 area children this year.
That’s because Santa’s little helpers loaded 133 boys bicycles onto a Salvation Army truck Wednesday afternoon.
The bicycles were all donated during the 36-hour-long Love Gives Wheels bike drive.
The pastor of The Dynamic Church stayed perched on top of a 30 foot lift the entire time.
The Salvation Army will pick up 154 girls bikes Friday morning.
But despite this generous outpouring of support, it’s not all good news for the Salvation Army this year.
Kimberly George with the Salvation Army explained, "The Salvation Army is still down with its red kettle donations.  If you are out and about shopping, please be generous and give extra to the red kettles. To date we are $17,000 behind and we really need to pick up with donations because the need is great."
You can still volunteer to be a red kettle bell-ringer.
