Santa Train rolls through the Scenic City
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A Santa Train is moving through the Scenic City tonight, delivering toys, bikes and food to eight needy families.
The train is made up of First Responders from various departments.
They want to make sure no child is forgotten Christmas morning.
Saturday afternoon volunteers and First Responders gathered up all the food and toys, and loaded them into two tractor trailers.
“These volunteers this year have been through a lot. They’ve had to handle brush fires, they had to handle Gatlinburg and Woodmore, and this is a way to show that public safety’s here for you in a lot of different ways. And I’m proud to be apart of this organization, and we’re going to make a great Christmas for a lot of kids,” says Clay Ingle with the Forgotten Child Fund.
Ingle says the Forgotten Child Fund has helped more than 10-thousand, 700 children in the Tennessee Valley this holiday season.
The non-profit has been making Christmas deliveries since the 1960s.
