Scenic City remembers fallen officer Julie Jacks on 14th anniversary of her death

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Fourteen years ago the Scenic City suffered a major loss.
Police Officer Julie Jacks was shot and killed with her own service weapon May 6th, 2002.
It happened when she tried to apprehend Isaac Jones.
He fled from a hospital during a mental evaluation.
Jones was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Officer Jacks was named Rookie of the Year in 2001.
She worked for the Chattanooga Police Department for a little more than three years.
