MCSO authorities have arrested Jason Kennedy, Brittany Branham for numerous sex charges involving minors
MCMINN COUNTY, Tenn. (WDEF) — Two staff members at Liberty Christian Academy in Athens, Tennessee, have been arrested for numerous sex charges involving minors.
Additional charges have also been made from an ongoing investigation of sexual assault this past August.
McMinn County Sheriff Joe Guy says authorities have arrested both 46-year-old Jason Kennedy and 28-year-old Brittany Branham.
According to a press release from the McMinn County Sheriff’s Office, Kennedy has been charged with four counts of Sexual Battery by an Authority Figure and two counts of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child.
He’s also been charged with Aggravated Sexual Battery and Solicitation of a Minor to Observe Sexual Conduct.
These charges are all related to new victims.
Branham was “indicted on Sexual Exploitation of a Minor related to the initial victim in the August investigation.”
Kennedy’s bond is set for $400,000. He is currently in custody in McMinn County Jail.
Branham made bond stipulations earlier this week and was released after her booking.
In the press release, Sheriff Guy says Kennedy “is the principal and a teacher at Liberty Christian Academy,” while Branham “is a secretary and home school coordinator at the school.”
