Second worker dies at Chatsworth plant in the last 7 months
CHATSWORTH, Georgia (WDEF) – Mohawk Industries officials say the cause of an industrial accident on Tuesday that killed a worker is under investigation.
59-year-old Candall man Roy Glenn Bass was hit by a larger roller at the facility on Duvall Road.
He died later at the hospital Tuesday morning.
Bass was an electrician who has been working for Mohawk for five years.
Both the Chatsworth Police Department and OSHA are investigating the incident.
“We are deeply saddened by Glenn’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time,” Vice President of Human Resources Jerry Hendrix said in a company statement.
“Everyone at the company appreciates the prompt response of local firefighters and EMTs. We are grateful for their extraordinary efforts on site and en route to the hospital,” Hendrix said.
He is the second worker to die at the plant over the last year.
The other fatality happened on September first.
