Semi catches fire on I-24 westbound

At 7 a.m. Haletown fire and rescue was paged out to I-24 west bound for a report of a semi fire, hauling FedEx packages, according to the Haletown Volunteer Fire Department.

They say no packages, firemen or anyone else was harmed.

During the course of the scene two firemen observed an accident on the eastbound side. They rendered, help to that driver and called for EMS.

Jasper fire was paged out for mutual aid the semi fire.

All units were back in service at 10:30 a.m.
