Several students charged in school fight at Cleveland High

Students could face suspension or expulsion

CLEVELAND, Tennessee (WDEF) – School officials say several students have been arrested following a fight at Cleveland High School on Wednesday.

They say it happened in the Commons area.

Witnesses who shot video of the fight on their phone say some officials were even punched in the fracas (we have blurred the video to avoid identifying any students).

School officials say they students who were charged and potentially others, will face disciplinary consequences for the fight.

That could include either suspension or expulsion.

In a statement, school officials say “Cleveland City Schools takes student and staff safety seriously and will vigorously enforce our board policies dealing with student discipline in matters such as this event. Thank you to our staff, students, and school resource officers that intervened today to bring an end to this incident.”
