Sexual assault suspect wanted in Hamilton County captured in Ohio
CHATTANOOGA,Tennessee(WDEF) – A senior citizen wanted in connection to a sexual assault from last year is now longer on the run from Tennessee law enforcement.
Otis Hill, 69, of Hixson was captured in Lima Ohio and extradited back to Hamilton County to face one count of sexual battery.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by News 12, Hill is a suspect in a March 2015 sexual assault of a woman that allegedly occurred inside a Hixson home.
The victim told investigators that Otis sexually assaulted her by running his hands far between her legs after she finished taking a shower and walked out of the bathroom. After the alleged inappropriate touching by Hill, the woman locked herself inside another room in the house and called for her boyfriend to come get her.
The alleged victim was taken to a family member’s home where she called law enforcement to report the assault.
According to investigators, a recorded interview between a detective and Hill was conducted via telephone. During the interview, Hill reportedly told investigators the woman wanted him to touch her. A detective asked Hill to come down to the Hamilton County sheriff’s Office to make a formal in-person statement but Hill told the detective he was out of town treating a relative with poison ivy.
When Hill was asked a second time to submit a formal statement, he reportedly told the detective he was afraid he was going to be arrested and that he could not afford a bondsman.
Now that Hill has been captured and transported back to Tennessee, he remains in the Hamilton County jail on a $45,000 bond.
His next court date is February 29.
