Sheriff: Man charged with overselling UGA-Notre Dame tickets
EATONTON, Ga. (AP) – Authorities say a ticket broker accused of overselling his allotment of University of Georgia-Notre Dame tickets is facing charges.
WXIA-TV reports that Jeff Cook was arrested Friday and charged with selling sports tickets without a license and advertising sports tickets for sale without posting a license number and his advertisements.
Putnam County Sheriff Howard Sills says dozens of complaints were reported before the Sept. 9 game after fans arrived in South Bend, Indiana. He says Cook was sending out notices of inability to fulfill tickets and couldn’t be contacted. The report says Cook runs the website All Sports Tickets.
Sills says police are continuing to examine Cook’s financial records.
It’s unclear if Sills has a lawyer. He posted bond of $2,000 on Friday.
