Sheriff’s Office arrests student for threat at Ooltewah High

OOLTEWAH, Tennessee (WDEF) – The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest in the case of a school threat at Ooltewah High.

On Tuesday, school officials notified parents of a threat written on a bathroom wall for Friday.

Sheriff’s officials say the School Resource Officer questioned a suspect on Thursday, who confessed to writing it.

The student said he/she did not intend on carrying it through.

But officials say stories of the threat have amplified on social media since news went out on Tuesday.

They stress they have no credible evidence that any of it is true.

But the Sheriff’s Office has increased their presence at the High School all week and will do so tomorrow.

The suspect will face criminal charges in Juvenile Court for writing the threat.
