Softball hitting coach accused of sexual battery of girls

Victims say he touched them inappropriately after battling practice sessions

ROSSVILLE, Georgia (WDEF) – Rossville Police have charged a local softball coach with Sexual Battery and False Imprisonment.

They say James R.”Pete” Hughes coached girl’s softball and provided batting instruction in Chattanooga, Rossville and other areas.

Rossville Police say their investigation began in early December.

The accusation is that he touched more than one juvenile inappropriately after batting practice sessions.

They say the victims were from more than one school or team.
