Special election set for Nov. 7th to choose replacement for Rep. Bruce Broadrick of Dalton

DALTON, Georgia (WDEF) – Election officials have picked November 7th for a special election for state house District 4 in Whitfield County.

Just this week, Rep. Bruce Broadrick officially resigned for health reasons.

The district covers most of Dalton and four other precincts.

State officials picked the quick turnaround to save money, since city elections were already scheduled then.

Candidates have until the end of today to qualify for the race.

The Dalton Daily Citizen reports two are already interested, Kasey Carpenter and Beau Patton.
