STARS Golf Tournament at Black Creek Golf Course

For the 20th year, the Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union sponsored the STARS golf tournament at the Black Creek Golf Course.

STARS stands for Students Taking a Right Stand.

It’s a program that’s been effective in dealing with many issues in the Hamilton County school district.

Today’s number of golfers set a new record.  Over the years, the tournament has raised $600,000 for STARS.

Tammy Zumbrun of the TVFCU stated, “These students are the future of our community. So we want to do whatever we can to support them, and so we made that commitment 20 years ago.  And along side of us came many businesses from Chattanooga, so we thank each one of them that participated.”

With the money raised by the tournament, STARS sent 600 students to leadership training this year.
