Stolen Truck Crashes into McCallie Avenue Building Overnight

Chattanooga (WDEF) – Chattanooga police charge three local gang members for a wild ride overnight in a stolen pickup truck.

The 4 door Toyota Tundra was first spotted by officers running radar on McCallie Avenue just before midnight.

The officer clocked the truck going 62 in a 35 MPH zone.

He gave chase.

Then another officer reported he was almost hit head-on by the pickup.

A few moments later, the stolen pickup crashed into a storage building in the 1100 block of McCallie Avenue.

The building would later collapse from the damage.

When officers arrived, they found two injured people on the sidewalk.

They told the officers that the truck hit them as they were walking and the occupants tried to rob them.

Later investigators determined that the injured parties were really in the pickup themselves.

A third occupant was found hiding under a church van two blocks away.

Investigators later found crack cocaine, a set of scales, two loaded weapons and 4 cellphones in the pickup.

They say all three suspects are validated gang members.

They are 22 year old Brandon Arnold, 20 year old Dominique Jarrett and 20 year old Edward Duckett.
