Weather Update for Friday Morning, April 1st

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Happy Friday & Happy April Fool’s Day! We have a pleasant weekend ahead, and although there are still a few showers in the area, the threat for severe weather has passed. Much of the area saw between 2 & 3 inches of rain, and Chattanooga’s airport recorded just under an inch.

As we go thru the day Friday, we will see a few leftover showers (no thunderstorms) and patchy fog early. It does look like we’ll see lots of clouds throughout the day and breezy conditions we well.

For the weekend: Cooler and drier, lots of sunshine both Saturday & Sunday. A touch of frost is possible here in town Sunday morning and likely in the higher elevations as lows will dip into the mid and upper 30’s. More frost possible Monday morning as well.

Most of next week appears dry with fluctuating temperatures. Highs between 62 & 72, and lows mainly in the 40’s. The next round of rain should roll in next Thursday.
