Streetlights disconnected on Olgiati Bridge for construction

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Drivers will need to use extra caution when crossing the Olgiati Bridge during nighttime hours in Chattanooga for the next few months.
The streetlights will be disconnected as part of the ongoing Highway 27 construction project.
Here’s the message from TDOT: As part of the U.S. 27 reconstruction project in downtown Chattanooga, TDOT contract crews must disconnect the street lighting on the Olgiati Bridge over the Tennessee River in Chattanooga.
Beginning on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, the lights on the southbound side of the Olgiati Bridge will be disconnected. The lights on the northbound side of the Olgiati Bridge will be disconnected later this week.
Once this is done, the Olgiati Bridge will remain without street lighting until the lights are reactivated in the latter stages of the project, which is scheduled for completion in July 2019.
Motorists are advised to use caution as they travel through the construction area, particularly during nighttime hours.
