Student charged with assault after Hixon Middle fight

HIXSON, Tennessee (WDEF) – An online feud ended in a real world punch-up today at Hixson Middle School.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office has charged a student after a fight this morning in the seventh grade hallway at class change.

Both students admitted they were carrying on an argument on social media for several days.

Officials say the student who was charged said when he saw the other student in the hallway, he decided to assault him.

The School Resource Deputy at the school reviewed video of the fight.

The Officer described it saying one student came up behind the other, and punched him in the face from behind.

While the victim tried to get away, the suspect continued to hit him while a crowd gathered to cheer them on.

Eventually teachers broke it up.

The suspect student is being charged with Simple Assault.
