Suspect in Georgia kills mother of 4 in front of children, shoots himself

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. (CBS46) – A mother of four is dead after being shot in front of her children as they sat inside a vehicle at a subdivision in Douglasville late Monday night.

The shooting happened around 10:30 p.m. at the Hunters Ridge subdivision off Hunters Ridge Drive, just northeast of Douglasville.

According to police, the mother and her children were sitting inside the vehicle when the woman was shot to death by the suspect, identified as 34 year-old Paul Humphries.

Humphries fled the scene and later shot himself.

When police arrived on scene, they found the woman dead inside the vehicle. Humphries is currently listed in critical condition at an area hospital. Police say the shooting was a result of a domestic situation.
