Suspect wanted for dragging Grundy deputy turns himself in
ALTAMONT, Tennessee (WDEF) – The suspect wanted for dragging a Grundy County deputy has turned himself in.
The Sheriff’s Department reports that Ricky Nathan Cunningham turned himself in on Thursday.
Deputy Paul Sweeton was treated and released from the hospital on Monday after the confrontation with Cunningham.
The deputy says he stopped the man on an ATV in Altamont around 5:45 AM because he was riding with a shotgun.
After discovering that Cunningham’s license was revoked, the two got into a scuffle and the ATV drove off dragging the deputy down the road.
Cunningham remained at large all week until turning himself in.
