SWAT situation forces dozens to leave their hotel room

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — A person is dead after a SWAT situation at Stadium Inn on West 21st Street.

Chattanooga Police were called late Saturday night for unknown trouble at the hotel.

People standing outside say they were forced to evacuate their rooms and were not allowed to get their belongings or cars before SWAT arrived.

Police blocked the street for a couple of hours as negotiators could be seen going in and out of the hotel.

Officials confirmed a woman was involved in the situation and witnesses say it appeared she was involved in an altercation before  being transported to the hospital.

The name of the person killed will not be released because cause of death was ruled a suicide.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Chattanooga Police confirm that they were called to the Stadium Inn on West 21st Street for a person barricaded inside of a hotel room. People outside the hotel say they were evacuated from the 4th floor and not allowed back into the parking lot to get their vehicles.
