SWAT standoff ends peaceably on Battlefield Parkway
RINGGOLD, Georgia (WDEF) – The threat didn’t turn out to be what it seemed in a SWAT standoff this morning in North Georgia.
It happened at the RaceTrac convenience store off I 75 on Battlefield Parkway after 6AM.
Police say a homeless man entered the store and convinced people he had a gun.
He forced everyone to leave the store.
The Georgia State Patrol SWAT team happened to be training nearby and got the call.
After a standoff, they swarmed the store and took the man into custody.
No weapon was found and no one was harmed.
