T-DOT Stopping Interstate Road Construction During Holiday Weekend

Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) – The Tennessee Department of Transportation will stop road construction and lane closures beginning Thursday, April 1st. T-DOT officials say this will provide maximum roadway capacity to motorists for the holiday weekend. All closures will stop at 6:00 pm on Thursday and will end Monday at 6:00 am.

Long term closures will remain in place, according to officials. Workers may be in construction zones and reduced speed limits will still be in effect.

Expect slower speeds in work zones, according to T-DOT officials. They say, slower speeds are necessary in work zones due to the temporary layout of the roadway.
