Investigators arrest wife of man killed in Rhea County
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Special Agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have arrested and charged a Rhea County woman in connection to the death of her husband.
At the request of 12th District Attorney General Mike Taylor, TBI Special Agents began investigating the death of Thomas Richard Wilkey, Jr. Monday, shortly after deputies from the Rhea County Sheriff’s Department found the body of the 51-year-old man in his home in the 1200 block of Walkertown Road in Dayton. During the course of the investigation, Agents, working alongside investigators from Rhea County, developed information leading to Wilkey’s wife, Patricia Kaye Wilkey, as the individual responsible for the crime.
Monday evening, agents arrested Wilkey and charged her with one count of Criminal Homicide. She was being held without bond in the Rhea County Jail.
DAYTON, Tenn. (WDEF) – The TBI and Rhea County Sheriff’s Office are continuing a death investigation after a man was found dead in his home Monday.
Investigators with the Rhea County Sheriff’s Office have considered the death a homicide.
The victim has been identified as 51-year-old Thomas ‘Skipper” Wilkey. They say Wilkey’s body was found at his Walkertown Road home near Dayton Monday morning.
Investigators have made one arrest.
They aren’t releasing the name of the suspect at this time, but person is being charged with criminal homicide.
Both the sheriff’s office and TBI are investigating this case.
